A drive test produces a lot of data. Whether it improves the network depends on how disciplined the campaign is.
First, define the question before the route. Coverage verification, competitive benchmarking and complaint investigation need different routes, times and settings.
Second, keep test conditions stable. Same devices, same firmware, same mount and the same scanner configuration across runs, so before-and-after comparisons mean something.
Third, log the context. Weather, traffic, events and temporary outages all shape the numbers and belong in the report.
Fourth, close the loop. Every finding should map to a specific change — an antenna tilt, a neighbour list, a parameter — and a re-test to confirm it.
Fifth, report for the audience. Engineers need plots and cell-level detail; managers need a short list of actions and expected KPI impact.
